Project Title:	Project Pipeline

Description:	Project Pipeline has three parts. During the preparation phase in the summer of 1996, excellent existing elementary curriculum materials that allow teachers and students to investigate the properties of matter will be identified and organized into a seven week module. A handbook will be written. The handbook will be a framework that will direct teachers to the sceince and math materials, suggest a sequence, and provide background information on properties of matter. During the second phase, there will be a professional development program in which teachers will perform the activities outlined in the handbook and also have support when they are doing the activities with their students. In the last phase information concerning the actual instruction and success of the project will be collected.
