    Where can I find data on past award recipients?
        Some data and examples of projects awarded are provided in the discover section of this site,
        under the honorees and spotlights headings.  

    Will the award support indirect costs associated with my project?
        Reimbursement for indirect costs (also called facilities and administration costs) is not 
        allowed under the current guidelines.    

    Does the award cover salary reimbursement?
        Some salary reimbursement is allowed, but the extent of the reimbursement is left to the 
        discretion of the Meggers Committee. Salary cannot constitute the entire amount of the 
        award.

    How can I learn the historical background of the award?
        The origin of the award is detailed in the award history heading of the discover section.

Preparing a Proposal
    What may be included in a proposal?
        Your proposal should have an official cover sheet and up to 5 double sided pages of 
        appended material. Go to our application checklist page for specific items to include.

    What should I do if I have submitted a proposal, but I omitted important information? 
        If critical information has been inadvertently omitted from a submitted proposal package, the 
        applicant should call the American Institute of Physics at (301) 209-3125.

Submitting a Proposal
    Who is eligible to submit a proposal for the award?
        In general, any individual or organization in the United States of America is eligible to submit 
        a proposal for the Meggers Project Award.  However, adherance to the project guidelines is 
        necessary for consideration.

    What is the deadline for receipt of proposals?
        A proposal is considered on time if it is either received by the April 15 deadline or mailed 
        (with proof of mailing date) by April 15. Please note that proof of mailing must be in the form 
        of a dated receipt or a legible postmark. Private meter postmarks are not acceptable. For a

    How many copies of the proposal should I submit?
        You should submit two copies of your full proposal. Please not that t is not necessary to fill 
        out two cover sheets.

    May I submit multiple proposals?
        Submission of proposals for multiple projects within a single award period is permissible. 
        Naturally, you are also welcome to submit proposals in as many different award periods as 
        you would like.

    Where should proposals be sent?
        Proposals and all other deliveries to the American Institute of Physics must either come via 
        courier delivery or the US Postal Service. Applications delivered by individuals to the 
        American Institute of Physics Review will not be accepted.

    How will I know when my proposal has been received?
        The American Institute of Physics will send out an email notification when a proposal has 
        been received.
